Kruger Park visitors warned about Malelane protests

The Kruger National Park has warned visitors to avoid using the Malelane Gate on Friday.
This comes after reports of a planned protest by a political party at a farm near the entrance.
SANParks spokesperson Ike Phaahla urged park-goers to use alternative entrances.
“Guests who are planning to travel to the Kruger National Park tomorrow are informed that due to a labour protest organised by one of the local political parties against a farming establishment outside the park is planned to take place tomorrow, November 27, along the R570, which leads to the KNP.
“Therefore, the road to Malelane gate might be inaccessible.”

The National Consumer Commission which mediated between the carmaker and consumers said out of 53 claims that were lodged, 47 accepted a payment of 50,000 rand ($3,290) each. Three others turned down the offer and opted to go to court to seek greater compensation, while another three claims were rejected because they failed to "prove that their loss fell within the parameters of settlement agreement," said the consumer commission.
