KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala has given an assurance that the province is ready to welcome tourists during the coming winter holidays.
Zikalala briefed the media on the Covid-19 situation in the province on Sunday.
The province is a popular destination for local tourists during the winter school holidays.
"We want to reflect on the threat of school holidays and inter-provincial travel, and we are concerned about the winter school break," said Zikalala.
"We welcome all the visitors who will be enjoying themselves on beaches and other areas. However, we urge everyone that we will not compromise on compliance with Covid-19 protocols."
Zikalala warned holidaymakers to comply with Covid-19 regulations.
"While we will welcome people, who are coming from other provinces, we will be strict in ensuring compliance.
"We want to ensure that people who come to KwaZulu-Natal for holidays must enjoy themselves, but they must adhere to protocols."
