Police say she befriended the baby's mother at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital before taking the two-week-old away with her to Bridge City in KwaMashu where she was arrested.

The police's Thulani Zwane says the suspect asked the mom if she could hold her baby.
"While the mother was away, it is alleged the suspect fled with the child. Community members assisted the mother by tracing the suspect and the suspect was then arrested. The baby was reunited with the mother," he said.
