A 30-year-old woman has been sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a 10-year-old boy in Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal.
Provincial police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says the woman was caught raping the child at his younger brother's birthday party in August last year.
Following an investigation by the Eshowe family violence, child protection, and sexual offences unit, the woman was arrested in September.
Sentence was handed down in the Eshowe Regional Court on Tuesday, with the court hearing how she raped the little boy in a rondavel once all the family members had gone to sleep.
