Large crowds expected at Angus Buchan prayer day in the east of Tshwane

Tens of thousands of people are expected to descend on Rhino Park and Airfield in the Rayton area of Tshwane on Saturday for the “It’s Time” prayer meeting, led by Angus Buchan.

Various roads in the area have been identified as access routes and residents of the area have been warned of heavy traffic.

These include:

- R513 (Cullinan/Zambesi pad) via the NOOITGEDACHT dirt road to Rayton

- R515 from Rayton to Rhinopark

- R104 from Pta to the Jan Ellis crossing, and then to Rhinopark

- R613 (BOSCHKOP pad ) from Lynnwood

- R25 and then to the R515 from there to Rhinopark

The prayer event is expected to take place from 12pm till 2pm on Saturday afternoon, but supporters started camping from Thursday.

One of the organisers, Piet Jansen van Vuuren, says people will also be bussed in.

“The nation, South Africa, is coming together to humble ourselves before God and to pray”, says Van Vuuren.

Meanwhile, TRAC has warned of heavy traffic expected on the N4 to the venue.

TRAC spokesperson Solange Soares says the will monitor traffic flow through especially the Diamond Hill Toll Plaza and surrounding plazas, east of Pretoria.
