The 24-year-old Hilton Wicks who was kidnapped in Nqanqarhu (formerly Maclear) on Friday has been safely dropped off at Kei Bridge in the early hours of the day.
News of Wicks' disappearance came just an hour after the Gqeberha biokineticis Riana Pretorius was released from her captors on Friday.
Spokesperson for the Hawks Yolisa Mgolodela only confirmed Wicks' safe return and did not elaborate on any ransom money being demanded or paid.
Meanwhile, a social media frenzy erupted over the weekend with accusations and fake news that Pretorius' boyfriend Carel Du Preez had been arrested.
Rumours about his business being in trouble proved to be true, as his estate was placed under final sequestration in the High Court in Gqeberha on Wednesday last week.
Du Preez, who works at Luister FM, deleted his Facebook profile following online harassment
