Lesufi pleads for end to FeesMustFall protests
Updated | By Samkelo Maseko
Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has described the situation at universities as being out of control.
Lesufi briefed the media on the province's state of readiness for the upcoming matric exams.
Lesufi says he kept quiet because he thought the situation was under control.
He now believes the protests for free higher education are getting out of hand.
The MEC says a solution needs to be found, or it could jeopardise the future of the next generation of South Africans.
"We have 112 000 learners that are writing exams that must go to institutions of higher learning. What will happen to them? Hence our plea to all these parties. Please, please, please find a way to resolve this impasse," he said.
