The grade 9 pupil from Aurora Girls High School failed to return from a trip to a nearby shop.
Lesufi said a memorial service will be held as soon as the countrywide lockdown is lifted.
“We are in a lockdown period, so we have asked the family to give us permission that after the lockdown period we have a memorial service so that students can also bid farewell to their fellow learner.
“The family has granted us permission that immediately after the lockdown that we can have a proper farewell that the school and the department together with the district can conduct.”
The provincial government will cover the costs of the funeral.
“We will provide all the burial support that they need through our social partners and we want to carry the funeral cost,” vowed Lesufi.
