During sentencing on Wednesday, Judge Geraldine Borchers said she recognised that Jacques Terblanche was a tik addict, but said not all addicts committed violent crime Beeld reported on Thursday.

The murder weapon, an iron bar from a hand weight, was used to inflict injuries.

Terblanche was also sentenced to 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances, to run concurrently with the murder sentence.
Craig Thomas, a paramedic from Kempton Park who had a relationship with Mischke, was sentenced to 20 years in prison last year after he accepted a plea agreement.

The two were tik addicts who attacked and robbed Mischke for drug money.

Thomas said it was Terblanche who beat a sleeping Mischke to death.

Terblanche had denied this.
