Limpopo cop arrested for sexually assaulting, grooming her child

Limpopo police have confirmed that a police officer accused of sexually assaulting and grooming her minor child has been arrested.
The 40-year-old police constable was arrested on Friday after her colleagues became aware of the allegations against her.
It has also seen a video of the officer and her 10-year-old son appear on social media.
She faces several charges including creating and distributing child pornographic material and the sexual grooming of a child.
Limpopo police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says the constable is also facing an internal disciplinary probe.
Police watchdog, the Independent Police Investigative Directorate, has also launched investigations into the matter.

The woman made her first court appearance on Monday.
She has been remanded in custody until her next court appearance in Marble Magistrate’s Court on 30 January 2023.
The identity of the woman cannot be released to protect the child.
He has since been removed from his mother’s custody and taken to a place of safety.
