Limpopo mother arrested for murder of 11-month-old baby

A 42-year old woman has been arrested for the murder of her 11-month-old baby.
The woman, from the Halambani Tswinganani village in Limpopo, was arrested by police on Sunday.
Police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says the woman apparently locked herself inside her home before beating the child.
“The local community members reportedly heard the frantic cries of the baby and rushed to the house. After realizing that the door was locked, they then broke open it and rescued the badly injured baby from the mother.

“The baby was rushed to the local Lambani Clinic but was unfortunately declared deceased on arrival.”
The motive for the killing has not been established.
The mother is facing a charge of murder.
