Limpopo police boss condemns mob killings

Limpopo Police Commissioner, Nneke Ledwaba, has condemned the continuous acts of mob attacks and killings in the province
This follows the recent brutal act of mob killing by the community of Tshakhuma in Muhovhoya village on Monday.
A 39-year-old man identified as Ndidzulafhi Tyson Makhala was attacked by the community using various objects and then set alight.
He was certified dead on the scene.
The attack was triggered by the alleged rape of a 17-year-old mentally disabled girl.
In a statement, police say it is alleged that the girl went to nearby bushes to collect firewood together with other women from the village when the deceased attacked them.
The other women managed to run away, leaving the 17-year-old girl behind who was allegedly attacked.
The villagers then traced the suspect until they caught him in the village and attacked him.
Police are still investigating and a case of murder has been opened.
No arrests have been made.
