Limpopo police search for baby snatcher
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile
Limpopo police are searching for an unknown woman who allegedly stole a one-month-old baby from his grandmother.
Police spokesperson Ronel Otto says the child was kidnapped on Sunday at the Dzanani Shopping Complex.
“An unknown woman approached the grandmother and offered to assist her with the baby. The suspect later gave the grandmother money and asked her to buy juice and an apple. When the grandmother returned, the woman and baby were gone,” Otto says.
The woman is described as Venda speaking, tall and slender with a dark complexion.
Otto says they are appealing to members of the public who may have information on the whereabouts of the baby or any information relating to the woman who took him, to come forward.
