Limpopo Education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya on Monday welcomed back teachers and administration staff ahead of the start of the new academic year on Wednesday.
As the department gears up for the start of the 2024 academic year, teachers are back at some 3,000 schools across the province after a long festive season break.
Teachers and staff members will use the two days to prepare for the return of pupils and induct grade R and grade 8 pupils.
"I want to take this time and welcome back team education all around our province, the 3,700 schools that today have opened their doors. Let me appreciate both the principals and the teachers for the work that you have done last year," said Lerule-Ramakhanya.
She said all schools received their stationery last year, and the nutrition programme is expected to resume on Wednesday for all qualifying schools.
"We want to urge parents to support our educators around the issues of the learners. We urge all parents who have relocated to the province to visit the nearest circuit office if you need help."
