Lion corpses stored in freezer on Lichtenburg farm
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
The National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA) Wildlife Protection Unit have found approximately 20 lion and tiger carcasses stored in a chest freezer on a farm at Lichtenburg in North West.

The organisation says it issued a warning and laid charges against the farm owner for harbouring wild animals under inhumane conditions in April.
But during a follow-up investigation in July, it once again found the corpses and removed five carcasses to determine the cause of death.
It also found two lion cubs in what it described as devastating physical conditions concealed in crates in a warehouse.
The NSPCA says it will be laying further charges against the owners of the farm.
