Lion carcasses found in Pretoria

The carcasses of four lions were found at the Rietvlei Nature Reserve in Pretoria on Friday.

Tshwane spokesperson Lindela Mashigo says one of the four lions belonged to the Pretoria Zoo.
“Four of them were killed at the Rietvlei Nature Reserve and one of those lions belonged to the Pretoria Zoo."
He adds that the matter is currently being investigated by city police.

“We cannot comment on how it happened, otherwise we will jeopardise the investigation.
“Only in the investigation we will unveil how they were killed, why they were killed and by who.”
