LISTEN: Duduzane Zuma granted R100 000 bail
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
The Specialised Commercial Crime Court has granted former President Jacob Zuma's son Duduzane R100 000 bail.
Zuma appeared briefly in court on Monday facing charges related to conspiracy to commit corruption after handing himself over to the Johannesburg police station.
The case relates to an alleged 2015 bribe offered to former deputy finance minister Mcebisi Jonas.
The case was opened by the Democratic Alliance's David Maynier in 2016.
Zuma allegedly arranged a meeting with Jonas, businessman Fana Hlongwane and Ajay Gupta, where Jonas was offered the position of finance minister and R600 million to assist Gupta with his business ventures.
Jonas declined the offer.
Magistrate Jansen van Vuuren postponed the case to the 24th of January 2019 for further investigations.
His legal team stated in court that they do not believe the state has a strong case.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane told the media the nature of investigations necessitate a lengthy postponement.
"The investigations are ongoing so we cannot confirm or deny as the NPA that there might be other cases that might be added or any other accused to be added in this case so let's allow the process to unfold."
She says the strength of the NPA's case will be tested in court.
Zuma will be appearing in the Randburg Magistrate's court on Thursday on culpable homicide charges in an unrelated case.
