LISTEN: Mathunjwa remains president, says AMCU

The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) says they
have submitted papers to appeal a Labour Court judgment on Thursday.
A judgment handed down on Monday declared the re-election of the AMCU president Joseph Mathunjwa in violation of the union’s constitution and the Labour Relations Act.
AMCU’s Krister J van Rensburg says the judge did not understand the AMCU constitution.
“Mathunjwa remains president of AMCU. The issue with is that (he) was retrenched while they were full time office bearers. And the understanding of the judge and our constitution did not correlate,” says van Rensburg
