[LISTEN] Car crash suspends Gautrain service in Tshwane

A car crash has led to the suspension of Gautrain train services in the City of Tshwane.
The crash occurred in the early hours of Monday morning.
Gautrain spokesperson Kasagee Nayager says the car crashed through palisades and traffic lights in Hatfield.
“In the early hours of this morning, a motor vehicle crashed through a palisade and a traffic light and as a result of this motor vehicle accident there is now some debris that is in the rail reserve.”
Passengers traveling between the Hatfield and Pretoria stations will be transported by the Gautrain’s bus service.

Nayager has warned that travel times will be extended as a result.
“Passengers can expect their travel times to be increased by approximately 15 minutes.”
Train services between Hatfield and Pretoria will remain suspended until the debris has been removed.
In the meantime, other Gautrain trains are running on time.
