This comes after the mother of the decuplets, Gosiame Sithole, failed to produce any proof of life after their birth last week Monday.

According to IOL, the 37-year-old gave birth to seven boys and three girls at a Pretoria hospital, but the provincial government denied the claims that the babies were born in Gauteng.

The mother hasn't been spotted by the public since the world first got wind of the record-breaking birth of the decuplets.

The father, Tebogo Tsotetsi, further claims to have been denied access to the babies after the delivery due Covid-19 related restrictions.

In another twist of events on Tuesday, Tsotetsi and his family have distanced themselves for the miracle birth.

"The family met today to consider all the facts with regards to the 10 babies and where the family stands right now, as we speak, is that there are no 10 babies until such time that the mother has been found and can point to the existence of the 10 babies," says family spokesperson Russell Baloyi.

"The mother has not been seen since she left to go and give birth. The family felt it could not sustain the story that there are 10 babies."

He adds no one had seen the baby bump or scans, despite being accompanied to doctor's visits by Independent Media journalist Piet Rampedi.

"Mr Piet Rampedi happened to be someone who had shown interest in the unusual nature of the pregnancy dating back to some time at the end of 2020. He has been very supportive to the family and the expectant mother in the sense that he was providing some basics and he would come in to take the mother for check-ups," Baloyi details.

"On the basis of that and him as well having spoken to the mother, we got the confirmation that it was an unusual pregnancy."

Baloyi says the family is not holding up well.

"All family members were taking pains of all kinds hence it was resolved that there must be a statement from the family that sets everyone free."

It's also understood Sithole left behind twins when she left on Sunday ahead of the big delivery.
