LISTEN: ‘We don’t know how to cope anymore’ – Nathaniel Julies’ mom as trial starts afresh

The mother of slain Eldorado Park teen Nathaniel Julies says the murder trial remains emotionally draining for the family as they prepare for proceedings to start from scratch.
Julies was shot and killed, allegedly a by police officer, near his home in 2020.
He was just 16-years-old at the time of the incident.
"We thought that we would get justice now," says Harris.
She was speaking on Wednesday as the family prepared for the murder trial against police officers Scorpion Ndyalvane, Caylene Whiteboy and Voster Netshiongolo to start again.

The trial was well underway in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court when Judge Ramarumo Monama passed away, bringing proceedings to a shuddering halt.
"Every time we think we are at the end there is a surprise that comes,” Harris continues. “It's draining us as a family, we don't know how to cope with this case anymore."
Harris says the family is struggling to keep their heads above water.
"We as a family are falling apart because we have recently lost our father as well. We are not coping at this point in time."
