Lucky escape for elderly man as fire guts his home

An 82-year-old man made a lucky escape from a fire that completely destroyed his home in Bergbron, in Randburg on Saturday.
Paramedics and the local Fire Department were called out to the scene, where they found the man outside the burning house
"The man managed to get out just in time before the flames engulfed his home", said ER24's Ross Campbell.
"He was assessed for smoke inhalation and found to be unharmed.
"Paramedics remained on scene for several hours to assess the fire fighters who battled the blaze".
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
