Mabuyane: Court ruling will help restore ANC prestige
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
The African National Congress’ (ANC) chairperson in the Eastern Cape, Oscar Mabuyane, has welcomed a decision by the Eastern Cape High Court in Grahamstown to dismiss an application to nullify the recent provincial electoral conference.

No reasons were given by the court.
The case was brought by 11 party members who were dissatisfied with the election results.
The conference elected Mabuyane as the new ANC chairperson in the province.
Mabuyane said the court's decision will help restore the prestige of the ANC and build trust within the party.
He said that it is unfortunate that some members chose to go to court rather than solve the issues internally.

Mabuyani said the ANC is an old political party which needs to re-visit ways to settle disputes and help correct situations moving forward.
He believes the disgruntled members are being funded by outsiders that are trying to tear apart the ANC.
