Mahumapelo and Nelson 'same WhatsApp group', claims opposition

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and Democratic Alliance (DA) claim the acting premier of North West, Wendy Nelson, is no better than embattled Supra Mahumapelo.
Opposition dubbed the governing party's decision to appoint MEC of Finance, Wendy Nelson, as acting premier of the province as "nothing to write home about".
Premier Supra Mahumapelo was instructed by the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) to withdraw his resignation and take special leave, pending the outcome of an investigation by an inter-ministerial task team on governance irregularities in the province.
The EFF's Betty Diale questioned Nelson's credibility when she was part of the previous previous administration which is facing corruption and state capture allegations.

"They do the corruption together and clear that is it going to continue," said Daile. "Both of them tried to centralise the procurement of all municipalities under one account so that they have hands in all accounts of municipalities in regards to procurement. We can't be happy to see Wendy acting as premier."
The DA's Joe McGluwa has described Nelson as Mahumapelo's "corruption enabler".

"Under her guardianship not a single municipality in the North West received a clean audit. She is nothing more than a lapdog to the Premier of the North West."
McGluwa said they have written to the Speaker of the North West Legislature, Suzan Dantjie, to start the process of scheduling a motion of no confidence in Mahumapelo.
