Malema to Mamabolo: R1m or you’ll see me in court
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has instituted legal proceedings against African National Congress (ANC) MP Boy Mamabolo over allegations that Malema abuses his wife.
“I don’t beat up my wife, my lawyers have written a letter to honourable Mamabolo because he repeated it outside,” said Malema during the debate of the state of the nation address on Tuesday.
Malema has denied the allegations – saying he never laid a hand on any woman.
“If you have nothing to hide you must take it to court,” Malema continued.
Mamabolo accused Malema during Thursday’s State of the Nation Address of abusing his wife as Members of Parliament traded insults and accused each other of abuse and the National Assembly descended into chaos.

Mamabolo has since published the letter on his Twitter profile – seeking a retraction of his “vexatious, misplaced, spurious and untrue” allegations by Wednesday or face a R1 million lawsuit of defamation.
“He must pay me R1 million or else I am taking him to court. He has received the letter, to show that I’m not hiding anything about abusing my wife,” said Malema.
