Malema salutes Thuli Madonsela

EFF leader Julius Malema believes President Jacob Zuma will not be successful in his attempt to stop the release of the Public Protector's report on state capture.

Madonsela's seven year term as head of the Chapter Nine institution comes to an end on Friday when she releases the last batch of reports on investigations she conducted as the Public Protector.

She was set to reveal her preliminary findings into a report on state capture today, but President Zuma applied for a court interdict to try to block the release.

Malema says he isn't surprised that the ANC's investigation into state capture went nowhere since the ruling party has been reduced to one individual and it cannot be saved.

"Thuli Madonsela was the most appropriate person and that is why we are not shocked. The ANC can't investigate Zuma and this thing called the ANC has collapsed," Malema told journalists.

He added that there are people who say they support the ANC but not Zuma and that this doesn't make sense.

"Can the real ANC please rise?" Malema said.

Although her incumbent has some big shoes to fill, Malema said Busi Mkhwebane must be allowed to be her own person.

Malema says Madonsela's bravery must be saluted.

"We have asked parliament to allow Madonsela to give a farewell speech in the National Assembly."
