Malema: We are happy to be dragged to court by boers
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The case of common assault against Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema and MP Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has been postponed until April next year.
The two appeared in the Randburg Magistrates Court on Wednesday on a charge of common assault in connection with an incident at the funeral of struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela last year.
Malema and Ndlozi allegedly assaulted a police office after he refused them entry to the graveyard.
The police officer subsequently laid a charge at the Douglasdale police station, with lobby group AfriForum taking up the matter after accusing the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) of not taking it seriously.

Speaking to journalists outside court, Malema accused AfriForum of apartheid tactics.
"We are happy to be dragged to court by the boers. That's what makes us happy, because it means that there is something right we're doing. They are not after (President Cyril) Ramaphosa, they are not after (UDM leader) Bantu Holomisa, they are not after (Cope leader) Terror Lekota. They are after the EFF, which means the EFF is up to something."
Malema and Ndlozi will be back in court in March.
