Mall of Tembisa appeals to police amid looming threats of looting

The Mall of Tembisa in Clayville has pleaded for help from the police to prevent what it believes to be imminent looting.
The shopping centre on Wednesday said it has received information that people are planning to loot its shops.
Nearby Yarona and Busy Corner Mall shopping malls have experienced looting on Monday evening.
"It has however been credibly confirmed that we will face more intense and organized attacks tonight, Wednesday 14 July," the mall said in a statement.
"We are calling on law enforcement agencies, SANDF, and government to assist us in protecting the mall at all costs."
The shopping centre has warned customers to remain at home.
"As an entity that has been instrumental in the creation of more than 4 500 jobs direct jobs for the community it is vital that we receive the assistance needed to protect the mall.
"We would like to thank the community for their efforts in assisting us to date but at this stage we urge the residents of Clayville, Tembisa and surrounds to stay at home for their own safety."
