Tinyiko Khosa was arrested after he handed himself over to the Hawks in Limpopo.

He has been charged with theft, fraud and corruption.

The matter has been remanded to 23 November for formal bail application and Khosa will remain in custody.

A number of students in Giyani had access to parts of the Maths 2 question paper before sitting for the exam.

The Hawks say they will continue with their investigation with more arrests expected.

"During our investigations we discovered that the suspect own two colleges in the Malamulele area. We are still busy with our investigations and we believe, in this case, he was not working alone," says the Hawks Matimba Maluleke.

Meanwhile, the Department of Basic Education says it hopes to get more information from Khoza.

The department's Elijah Mhlanga says he's hopeful that Khosa will tell them where and how he got hold of the paper.

"We are expecting that the next court appearance will begin to shed some light in terms of the details, because they continue to talk to him and we are hoping that he will divulge more information which will assist the investigation," says Mhlanha.
