Man appears in North West court for rape

A man accused of raping a 35-year-old woman has appeared in the Ganyesa Magistrate’s Court, North West police said on Wednesday.
Sergeant Kelebogile Moleko said the man 22, appeared in court on Tuesday. He was denied bail and would appear in court again on Friday.
Moleko said police arrested the suspect for allegedly assaulting and raping a 35-year-old woman on Sunday. “It is alleged that the victim was on her way to work when she was approached by an unknown suspect. According to reports, the suspect grabbed her by the throat and forced her to the ground, then allegedly raped her.”
She said the woman went to the police and informed them about the incident. The man was arrested after an investigation was conducted, Moleko said. -ANA
