A 21-year-old man was arrested on Monday afternoon in connection with the January 2015 murder of three members of a family at the luxury De Zalza estate in Stellenbosch, Western Cape police said.
Martin van Breda, his wife Teresa, and their son Rudi were killed, while their 16-year-old daughter Marli and another son Henri, 21, survived the attack. The family was attacked with an axe.
“Our investigation into the three murders and an attempted murder which were perpetrated on the De Zalze estate during January 2015 led to the arrest of a 21-year-old suspect this [Monday] afternoon when he handed himself over to the Stellenbosch police at 15:30,” said police spokesman Andre Traut.
“The suspect is due to make a court appearance tomorrow in Stellenbosch to face three counts of murder and one of attempted murder.” - ANA
