Man arrested for murder of 14-year-old cousin
A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of his 14-year old cousin in Kabokweni, Mpumalanga.
The 19-year-old suspect was nabbed by police on Monday.
Provincial police spokesperson Leonard Hlathi says the young girl went missing on Wednesday and her body found inside the family’s pit toilet over the weekend.
It is believed that the girl was drugged before she was murdered.

“The young girl was last seen by her family on Wednesday. Her family only realised that there was something bad which might have happened to her the next day after they received threatening messages via cell phone as well as a demand for ransom in exchange for her release.
“The family then notified the police who opened a case of kidnapping and an investigation began.”
Police have not ruled out the possibility of arresting more suspects in connection to the murder.
The suspect is expected to appear at the Kabokweni Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
