Man arrested for raping two minors at Pretoria hotel

A 45-year-old man is set to appear in the Pretoria Regional Court in connection with the rape on of two girls, aged 11 and 13.
The man, who took the two minors to a hotel in Sunnyside, was arrested on Friday.
Gauteng police spokesperson Mathapelo Peters says was earlier seen with the two children at a liquor shop at Lotus Gardens in Atteridgeville.
"The three (then) headed to the hotel where the suspect booked a room where he allegedly raped both victims. It has further been reported that the youngest victim managed to escape and alerted people who were in the hotel.
"Hotel security was alerted, and police were called in and subsequently arrested the suspect who was still in the hotel room.”
She adds the 45-year-old was out on parole after having served time for a previous conviction of rape.
