Man caught in Limpopo with fake diamonds and counterfeit money
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Limpopo police in Modimolle has called on anyone who may have been scammed to come forward.
This follows the arrest of a 24-year-old Lenn Roy Jofner who allegedly failed to pay for fuel at a local filling station.
Police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says he was arrested in April while attempting to buy a new tyre.
"The Police initially launched a manhunt for the alleged fraudster after the case was opened by the filling station on 28 April 2020.
During the arrest, police found fake diamonds, R200 notes of counterfeit money, jewellery and crystal meth drugs concealed in his vehicle," says Mojapelo.
He adds that investigations indicated that the suspect was linked to other cases in the Vaalwater and Laersdrift areas, reported last month.
"The suspect is facing charges of fraud, theft, possession of counterfeit money, drug trafficking, possession of the suspected stolen property, uttering and forgery," concludes Mojapelo.
