Man dies in accident in Walkerville, Johannesburg

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said the accident occurred at the intersection of the R82 and R557.

 

“When paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found a man and woman trapped in one of the bakkies,” Bodasing said.

 

Bodasing said the man who was the driver of the vehicle had sustained multiple injuries and had succumbed to his injuries, while the Midvaal Fire and Rescue Services extricated the people from the vehicle.

 

“The woman was assessed and found to be in a critical condition. She sustained multiple injuries. She was treated and airlifted to hospital,” said Bodasing

 

There were five people in the other vehicle, and four of them were treated for moderate injuries, while one was treated for minor injuries.

 

They were transported to local hospitals by ambulance for further medical care.

 

The exact cause of the incident was not known but authorities were on scene for further investigations. -ANA
