Man shoots ex-girlfriend, himself
Gauteng police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Krugersdorp.
A 39-year-old man is believed to have shot and killed his 30-year-old ex-girlfriend before turning the gun on himself this afternoon.
Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says the shooting happened in Munsieville shortly before 13:00.
"We have opened a case of murder-suicide. It's alleged the man shot and killed a woman believed to be his ex-girlfriend. We understand the woman was at her boyfriend's home when the shooting happened," he explains.
Masondo suspects the ex-boyfriend followed the woman to the Krugersdorp home.
ER24's Ineke van Huyssteen says the couple had been found dead in the driveway.
"There was nothing that could be done for them. They were declared dead on scene."
