Man to appear in court for shooting NFP supporters

A man accused of shooting two women in KwaMashu is due to appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court on Monday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

The man was taken in for questioning on Friday, Colonel Jay Naicker said.
He faces attempted murder charges.
"Detectives expect to arrest more suspects in connection with the shooting," said Naicker.
On February 15, two women were attacked and shot at a hostel. Zama Zungu sustained a gunshot wound to her stomach and Nomusa Nhlengana was shot in her left hip. Both were taken to hospital.
At the time, the province's community safety MEC Willies Mchunu said both women were National Freedom Party supporters and were allegedly shot by Inkatha Freedom Party supporters.
The NFP is a breakaway group from the IFP.
