Mandela Day should be ‘a way of being’, says Graca Machel

Humanitarian and widow of former president Nelson Mandela, Graca Machel, has urged South Africans to practice Mandela Day “as a way of being”.
Machel spoke at the Nelson Mandela Day celebrations in Germiston on Thursday morning.
The Nelson Mandela Day celebrations kicked off at the Germiston Civic Hall where the Nelson Mandela foundation partnered with the City of Ekurhuleni, the Gauteng Provincial government and Habitat for Humanity.
The discussions for the day centered around health, education and housing.

Gauteng MEC of Human Settlements and COGTA, Lebogang Maile announced that the Gauteng government would be handing over 100 000 serviced stands in the next five years.
