Manhunt for Limpopo prisoner awaiting trial
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
Limpopo police have launched a manhunt for a prisoner awaiting trial who escaped from custody in Malamulele.

Thembinkosi Gift Mabunda escaped from custody on Friday.
The 24-year-old managed to flee after attending a court appearance for charges related to, among others, hijacking.
Police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng said Mabunda escaped while being escorted back into the police truck.
"It is alleged that when the incident happened the fugitive was with four other prisoners waiting trial and meant to get into the prisoner's truck when he escaped.
"The circumstances surrounding the escape are currently under police internal investigation processes.
"Currently, further charges of escaping from lawful custody and aiding a prisoner to escape have been added. The public has been urged not to try and re-arrest the escapee as he is considered dangerous," he said.
