Seven people killed in Mpumalanga tavern shooting
Mpumalanga police have launched a manhunt for the suspects who shot and killed seven people at a tavern in Pienaar, outside Mbombela.
The shooting happened in the early hours of Saturday morning.
In a video which was shared on social media, several lifeless bodies can be seen scattered around two cars parked at the tavern premises.
Several other people have been wounded and are being treated at hospital.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli said the motive for the shooting is unknown.
"There are also an unconfirmed number of victims who sustained some injuries and were taken to hospital."
"We can confirm that seven people were fatally shot and an unconfirmed number of victims have been taken to hospital and are in a critical condition.
"No arrests have been made, we are still looking for the suspects and also the circumstances of how they were shot." Mdhluli said.
