Manhunt underway for KZN cop killers
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
A manhunt's been launched for the killers of KZN police officer - Michael Jameson.

The 52-year-old was gunned down in Umbilo yesterday, during an attempt to stop a hijacking.
SAPS spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says the warrant officer, who was with the Mariannhill Public Order Policing Unit, had gone to a school in the afternoon to fetch his daughter, and was off-duty at the time.
"This is when he noticed a hijacking in progress. The member immediately placed himself on duty and responded to the incident."
Upon noticing that the member was armed, the suspects opened fire. The member returned fire but sadly succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

Mathe says the gunmen crashed two vehicles - one hijacked from outside the school and another stolen from Hammardale - while they made their escape. The cars were later found abandoned. She says police have teamed up to track them down.
"The late Warrant Officer died a hero as he died serving and protecting the people of this country,"
