The City of Tshwane says it is investigating a possible cholera outbreak in the Greater Hammanskraal area, north of the city.
Spokesperson Selby Bokaba says rumours of a possible cholera outbreak started making the rounds on Wednesday.
"However, on Monday we had already conducted some tests. And those tests did not show any signs of cholera in the water."
Bokaba adds that even though local clinics in the area have not reported any cases of cholera from patients the water in the area has been sent for testing.
The city is waiting for the results.
"In the meantime what we have done is to dispersion water truckers in those affected areas."
