Maties expels urinating student Theuns du Toit

Stellenbosch University has expelled student Theuns du Toit for urinating on the belongings of another student in May this year.

In a video, which was widely shared on social media, Du Toit can be seen urinating on the books and a laptop of a black student Babalo Ndwayana in one of the residences.
An independent disciplinary committee found Du Toit guilty of contravening the disciplinary code for students.
He has five days to file a notice of appeal against the decision of the committee.
“The University viewed this case in a very serious light. The University takes a zero-tolerance approach to racism, discrimination, prejudice, and conduct which assails the dignity of another person.
“SU management took note of the sanction imposed and will be studying the details of the CDC’s finding,” said deputy vice-chancellor Prof Ramjugernath.
