Mbalula ‘horrified’ by deadly KZN crash

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula says he is horrified by Tuesday morning’s crash in KwaZulu-Natal which claimed the lives of 12 people.
The crash, involving a minibus and a truck near Pietermaritzburg, left six others injured.
Department of Transport spokesperson Ayanda Allie Paine says the minister has sent his condolences to families who have lost their loved ones.
"And he wishes the injured one a swift and full recovery. As we urge closer to the October Transport Month and build up to the national taxi lekgotla, we continue to work towards safer roads and appeal to all road users to work with government to the end.”
Police in the province are searching for the truck driver involved in the crash after he fled the scene.
He allegedly crashed into the minibus after failing to stop at a crossing.
