Mbalula lauds Glebelands arrest

Police Minister Fikile Mbalula has commended the police in KwaZulu-Natal for the arrest of a murder suspect in connection with the notorious Glebelands Hostel in Umlazi.

Police Minister Fikile Mbalula has commended the police in KwaZulu-Natal for the arrest of a murder suspect in connection with the notorious Glebelands Hostel in Umlazi.

 

Police ministry spokesperson Vuyo Mhaga says changes to policing at the hostel are yielding good results.

 

''We cannot continue to coexist with criminality and violence.

 

More than 90 people have been killed at the hostel over the past three years. 

 

The suspect, 32-year-old Mondli Mthethwa, has been described as the most wanted suspect in connection with crimes committed at Glebelands. 

 

He has been linked to murders at the notorius hostel and other murder cases in the Bhekithemba area.

 

Mhaga said since the opening of the satellite police station in the area, many arrests have been made.
