Mbalula: Trollip and DA must pack up and go

African National Congress (ANC) head of elections Fikile Mbalula has called on embattled Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) Mayor Athol Trollip to leave office.
Mbalula was speaking outside the City Hall after the scheduled motion of no confidence against Trollip was cancelled on Thursday.
"The Democratic Alliance (DA), led by Athol Trollip and all his surrogates, must pack and go. And they will go comrades with the popular vote of our people," said Mbalula.
He also urged the crowd to pray for the African National Congress (ANC) ahead of the Easter weekend so that it may regain the power it lost in the metro during the local government elections.

He accused the DA of not doing anything for the people of the metro.
"We must pray that this metro must return to the rightful people.
"We have seen them within a very short space of time, not even a year they have shown their true colours. They cannot do anything to change the lives of our people," Mbalula said.
The motion of no confidence against Trollip was brought to a halt after chaos broke out at the chambers.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) brought the motion of no confidence against Trollip in reaction to the DA's decision not to support a motion for land expropriation without compensation in the National Assembly.
