Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Three men are set to appear in the Tzaneen Magistrate's Court for attempted poaching, possession of a poisonous substance and the possession of dangerous weapons.
The tree men, aged between 27 and 55, were arrested after they allegedly cut the fence of the Letaba River Lodge Game Reserve in Limpopo.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafelo Mojapelo says the suspects were confronted by security guards who then called the police.
"They were found in possession of poisoned chicken, a garden cutter and a kitchen knife. One of the suspects is an employee of the same game reserve," says Mojapelo.
Mojapelo says three lions were killed at the same game reserve in the past two months and their heads and paws removed.
"These arrests will bring us closer to solving some of similar cases that afflicted this provide in the past."
