Men over 50 not pitching up for vaccinations - Dept of Health
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Men between between 50 and 60 years of age have been urged to get their jabs as the government ramps up its Covid-19 inoculation campaign.

The department's deputy director-general Dr Nicholas Crisp says men in that age group are just not coming out in their numbers.
“We are not managing to reach that many men specifically in the older age group above 50. The men are not turning out in their numbers for vaccination and we would really like to encourage men to come forward for vaccination.”
Crisp says the uninsured population, especially in the urban areas, is also not getting vaccinated.

“The uninsured population are dragging behind in terms of the proportion of them that we are able to reach. This population in the urban areas is not coming forward as readily as we would like.”
The Department of Health held a press briefing on Friday morning to give an update on the government's vaccine rollout plan.
In August the government plans to have vaccinated over 7 million with 1 million of those people being those aged 60 and above.
