Methodist Church joins call for Zuma to step down
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The Methodist Church of Southern Africa (MCSA) has joined growing calls for President Jacob Zuma to step down or be removed.

The call follows last week's controversial Cabinet reshuffle, which saw the axing of the then finance minister Pravin Gordhan and his deputy Mcebisi Jonas.
The MCSA's Bishop Siwa says the President's actions are disturbing.
"We are disturbed by the fact that competent ministers in the treasury and other ministries have been summarily dismissed, while ministers who have been found glaringly incompetent have been retained."

Siwa says MCSA joins the call for Zuma to step down.
"Therefore, the MCSA calls for national lament and joins the rallying call for prophetic and united action in arresting the damaging consequences of the President's hasty, ill-advised and unconvincing decision. It is time for President Zuma to step down or be removed," Siwa says.
