Metrorail has suspended all trains between Koedoespoort and Pienaarspoort in Tshwane due to the ongoing violence.

Ten train drivers have been attacked and six trains vandalised in less than a week.
Metrorail spokesperson Lillian Mofokeng says the decision was taken to ensure the safety of employees and commuters.

"We cannot continue to risk the lives of commuters. Remember when they stone a train, a stone goes to anybody that is inside a train, it can go to your mother or any person. It has gotten out of hand now to a point that we don't want to wait for the worst (to happen)."
Two people have been arrested on charges of the destruction of property.

Mofokeng says a female train driver was left traumatised when she was undressed in front of commuters on Wednesday.
"This tells you that it is not even safe for us to can even try or attempt to make other plans for those commuters, hence we are offering refunds, and we are not in the position to offer alternative transport."
The train routes have been suspended indefinitely while talks are underway with the community in Mamelodi.
